This bed frame is beautiful, even moreso in person. I love that It has a shelf above the bed, which Is super handy. The headboard, like someone else mentioned, doesnt reach the bottom which causes pillows to fall through. However, I bought this bed as I like having the option of hanging my arms out above my head when I sleep. I've moved this bed across two cities and havent encountered a scratch. My only complaint is the wooden slats supporting the mattress: they are incredibly difficult to snap into place! I've actually broken a few of the plastic supports holding in these wooden slats and I am seriously considering going to home depot and replacing them. The frame is also quite heavy. But mainly the horrible wooden slats prevent me from recommending this bed frame.

We've had this bed (queen) since July. It is lovely and really mixes up a room that is otherwise very midcentury...the problem is, the mattress sinks! After a few months, both my husband and I have little ruts where we sleep, despite consistently rotating the mattress. The slats are not enough to keep the bed supported evenly. This is on top of the maddeningly large space between the headboard and the mattress...
Would not recommend.

"i had been sleeping with my mattress on the floor for months, waiting for the perfect time to pull the trigger on buying this bed. I have a very odd shaped room with low ceiling and low windowsill that few platform bedframes would work inside and i kept going back to this one. i wasn't sure if it would be flimsy or heavy duty. i also am hesitant to buy furniture sight unseen / online since it is a financial commitment but i hadn't found anything else with dimensions that would work better so i went ahead and gave it a shot. it arrived a week ago, i put it together in about 90 minutes with the help of a friend. i am in love with this bed frame! it is so substantial, heavy duty, while still feeling refined. the bed is just so ever elevated off the floor enough that my comforter doesn't hit the ground, and im not too far up toward my low ceiling either. the headboard looks great up against my low window sill. my only complaint is the massive amount of packing materials that it came in. it took me 2 hours to break it all down and 3 carloads to a dumpster to get it all out of here. but, it arrived without a scratch in perfect condition, so what are you gonna do. would totally recommend this for anyone's modern or retro room, i could also see it with a gloss enamel color dresser ala CB2. if you're thinking about this bed, get it, just get ready to spend some time packing out all the cardboard and styrofoam that protects its awesomeness!"

Love this bed
Date:02/23/2013
We purchased this bed for our new very modern home. The bed is perfectly suited to the architecture of our home. I love the shelf on the headboard. We weren't sure we wanted nightstands in our small bedroom and with this shelf we don't need them!
Well packed, no damage during transit. Went together easily, you will need a partner for one or two steps. Very sturdy, not noisy or squeaky at all. Finish is deep dark grey/black, really sharp! Looks great with existing black wood end table and dresser
I went with that mainly because I liked the top shelf it added when put together, I'm regretting basing my decision on that.
When you lay in the bed the entire bed frame makes noise. At first I thought it was the mattress, but no. It most definitely is not quiet during those intimate times and even just getting out of bed is noisy.
Don't go with this bed frame.

Great modern look. Love the gunmetal color. The "shelf" area at the back is handy and I like the height a lot. Good height for putting on your shoes in the morning.

The bed is super slick and sturdy. Assembly is super easy. The minimal design is perfect for those smaller bedrooms. I won't be buying a bed for a really long time. Highly reccomended.
This bed is fantastic. We bought a king size. The shelf that is the headboard works out great for lamps, books, frames etc. It is low to the ground; easy to put together and sturdy.

wasn't that huge as we imagined, which was perfect
Date:03/04/2013
We love the style of this frame, but were worried that it would take away too much space from our bedroom; however, it actually fits perfectly, and didn't seem to be that big when it was placed in the room. Many reviews mentioned that the pillows might fall under the frame due to the opening of the headboard, but we didn't have that problem at all because we had a pretty thick mattress. Besides all the pros, it would be very nice if cb2 could have it as part of the in-home delivery service with assembly.

Basically, I have been lusting over this bed for months.
Finally my husband agreed on the purchase. We were concerned about a couple things:
1. overall quality - it turns out this bed is very sturdy, not "cheap," and looks modern 2. sleeping on just a top mattress - while we bought a completely new top mattress for this bed, i had concerns it might not be supportive enough. This bed is incredibly supportive and strong despite losing a base mattress 3. price - for the money, you can't really find anything else that is as high quality and still fits in the price range.

I love CB2 a lot and almost got all my furniture from here. However I'm not very happy about this bed. Yes it is very sleek looking and that's why I got it in the first place but:
1. Frame is very heavy and make sure you have someone there to help you to assemble it! I don't really understand why this requires customer assembling while they assembled my dining table which could be easily done by myself. The fact that the whole thing is really heavy and the headboard does not stand by itself just add more difficulties to the assembling. My back hearts seriously after the whole mess...
2. the poor packaging makes it harder to diy really-- I saw some of the reviews mentioning that too-- the are indeed a lot of styrofoam which are super easy to break into small piece!
3. I'm a little bit concerned about how then whole thing physically works: I'm not a professor in physics but the fact that the headboard does not stand by itself and only four nails connect the header board and the bed frame , and hence holds all the weights worries me.(please refer to the manu and you will see). I will wait and see if it will work out well
All in all - for ladies who think their boyfriend/husband who can due with it themselves--please don't get it--they will definitely need your help!
No luck finding anything like this locally. The bed was just what I wanted. Low to the ground, modern and works great with the other furniture in the room. No problems with ordering or the shipping company CB2 used.

I contemplated this purchase for a long time because I thought it was pricey; I contemplated it for over a year. I waited patiently hoping that I might be lucky enough to catch a sale either on shipping or on the cost of the actual frame, but no joy. I ended up paying full price for it, but I have to say that it was completely worth it. It is a really sturdy and beautiful bed frame. I opted to order the mattress from a local retailer to save some money. The local shipping company left a lot to be desired, but CB2 customer service made up for the inconvenience. The bed frame is awesome, and it was definitely worth the wait. The assembly is definitely easier with two people. I wouldn't recommend trying it alone. I definitely recommend this bed though - great investment.

The bed is very cool looking, seems to be of decent quality, and wasn't too difficult to put together. One star off for the INSANE amount of Styrofoam packaging it came with. Aside from being environmentally backward, it was also a big pain to remove and quite messy. 80% of box was full of packaging, which crumbled all over our floor (and apartment trash chute where I spent a long time breaking it into disposable pieces). Another star off because we now need to order a bigger mattress - frame too large for standard queen.

This bed was fairly simple to assemble. There were a few moments of frustration when it came to lining up the screws. Overall it's a beautiful bed once finished. Love, love, love the added shelf. Recommend this bed for sure!
nice, clean lines, very sturdy, solid construction, very happy with it. Expected a somewhat lighter shade of grey - it looks closer to black than grey, just FYI
We recently moved and downsized, and this bed is perfect for the smaller space. I purchased the king and use the shelf plus a c-table as a nightstand.. The "nook" behind bed is great to use with baskets for extra books, etc. Also, my hubby loves it and he is not into "modern" furniture!
