I purchased this pad with the hopscotch rug (which I love). The pad is smaller than a rug by a foot: a 6" difference on all sides. The outline of the pad beneath is clearly seen and it looks awful. Assuming I had received the wrong pad size, I called customer service. I was told that the size difference is intentional and typical for pad sizing. Every website I consulted on pad sizing states that a 1" difference is the standard. I am typically a fan of CB2's product curation but this rug pad is a fail.

I bought this to go under a rug in my bedroom. The rug arrived first so I placed it in my bedroom and awaited the arrival of the rug saver. By the time it had arrived I realised that I did not need it , my rug had not moved an inch. In areas of high traffic it would maybe useful but not in a bedroom.
This fits perfectly under the 8x10' rugs and works really well. It doesn't bunch up or slide ar ound and keeps the rug in place. Plus, it is so easy to add onto your overall order, it save a ton of time hauling off to the store to find the right pad.

The rug stays put! I have no major issues with using this product. I bought the 5x8 for the Abyss Rug which I love as well! The only thing is when I was trying to get it in place, it kept curling up in the corners and folding in the middle creating creases but once I had another adult assisting me with laying the rug down, it was wonderful!

I am using the rug pad for a wool rug (the Tango rug also from CB2) that is on a hardwood floor. It is cheaper than similar PVC rug savers on other websites, but it does its job just fine. The rug pad is made of "sticky" PVC foam cut slightly smaller than the rug, so it secures the rug to the floor sturdily with minimal hassle. Now, the rug no longer shifts on the floor when I walk on it, and I can vacuum the rug easily without it moving around. Plus, the rug saver gives the rug a bouncier, softer feel when I walk on it. In addition, I get peace of mind knowing that the wax on my hardwood floor and rug will both last a long time.

The rug saver stuck to our cement floor under each of the three different rugs we put around the house like a sticker. The white backing is not only sticky on the floor but looks like a bunch of white paint was poured all over it. My guess is that this happened because we have heated cement and the rug saver melted. There is no warning for this on the product. I would recommend using with extreme caution, because it can only be somewhat fixed with an expensive professional cleaning.

I purchased 2 of these rug savers a few years ago. The price was good - similar to what I saw at other stores. They work well - my rugs never move or slide and the wood floor below the rug looks great. Using a rug saver gives the rug even more cushion which is great for comfort for your feet on a hardwood floor.
I was apprehensive at first about purchasing this product because it seemed like an unnecessary expense for a rug: $25 for something you will never see, come on! However, now that I have had it and the rug for over a year, I can honestly say that it has been beneficial to the life-span of the rug. It cushions and holds the rug in place. There are no "sink spots" on the rug or places that have been matted down from wear and tear. I haven't had any problems with staining on my tile floor and it was relatively easy to "install."
