I adore the sputnik clear glass ornament. I purchased one in clear glass and another in silver. The glass is incredibly high quality and the ornament itself looks amazing. I plan on displaying my sputnik year round because it is bauble worthy. The CB2 string is sort of plain (nylon wire) but you can replace that with something more substantial if you like.

I bought both the clear & the silver, they look great together - and match the Sputnik chandelier in my dining room too :-) If you like mid-century modern, you'll love these. They were packaged very well also, no damage in shipping.
