polygon floor lamp

shady woods. Warm glow of wood grain caught our eye on this hi-concept design by Mark Daniel of Slate Design. Oak veneer shade with its sweeping pattern and hi/lo tones illuminate with removable diffuser to soften the light. Contrasting matte grey steel ascends three-point adjustable base that bends light where you need it as geometric sculpture. Exposed cords at joints add to the mechanics. Pretty, but not flexible enough
Date:04/02/2013
I bought this lamp for a client, but had to return it. Though the style is great and the quality of the materials are great for the price, it takes up too much space for a smaller room. I thought each joint would be adjustable and allow us to configure it to suit the space, but the base joint is set, which gives the lamp a really large footprint.
If you have plenty of space I would recommend this lamp, but make sure you don't need to walk around it.

Gorgeous addition to our living room
Date:03/04/2013
Not only is the lamp imposing and graceful with its height, weight and angles, but it also casts the most beautiful browny-orange glow. We’ve got it set on a timer so that each evening it’s often the only light cast in our living room. The wood grain is just beautiful, and I find it’s plenty of light to accent the room. Well worth the money and time spent assembling it!

Looks good, but not enough light
Date:12/14/2012
I had been lusting after arc lamps for a long time, but my husband didn't want to hit his head when he sat down on the sofa. We compromised with this lamp because it's adjustable and the shade can be high enough so that you don't bump your head. I think that it looks great, but I really wish it gave off more light. It's not a normal fabric shade. It's much more solid, so not as much light gets through. It also has a cover on the bottom opening, which you would probably only want to take off for reading. It feels more like room decor than a functional lamp to me.

the lamp provides ambient, decorative lighting.....looks great with my sloped attic ceilings...unfortunately, the diffusing insert has delaminated twice.....buyer beware

We want to let you know that we are committed to quality and have worked with the vendor to make improvements in the construction of the polygon floor lamp . Ties the room together
Date:12/25/2012
This was the finishing piece in a living room full of new furniture. The ensemble still needed something and this lamp's arc shape and real wood veneer shade added that. I did not need a strong light source so much as an atmospheric light, and this is it. I use the diffuser all the time as the lamp is on with the television playing.
The two downsides to this lamp are apparent only after owning it for 4 months. I live in a steam heated building, and now that we're into winter, the wood veneer attached to the bottom of the diffuser has warped with heat / humidity and detached slightly from the plastic film across the bottom of the diffuser. I will probably be able to fix it invisibly with a strong double sided tape, but there should have been a better construction of wrapping the diffuser edges or somehow sealing the veneer to the diffuser. The second thing is just an aesthetic preference; I would have concealed the excess wires at the joints inside the tubing so the wire loops are not on the outside of the lamp. Not a huge deal for the price of this lamp, but a design detail I noticed nonetheless.
Overall a nice piece that I get lots of compliments on.

The stand looks pretty good but the very plasticy lamp shade does not resemble wood at all. As other reviewers noted, this lamp does not provide very much light.

Awesome-looking lamp does little to light up room
Date:09/05/2012
We got this lamp because it looks REALLY cool. And when it arrived, it certainly lived up to that expectation - it looks awesome, and feels very solidly built.
When we turned it on, we just couldn't get it to light up our room the way a couple of the other CB2 floors lamps do. We tried various bulbs (CFL, incadescent, etc.) and none of them really do it.

Great look, good functionality
Date:09/10/2012
This lamp has a great look to it. It was easy to assemble and fits really well over our chaise. The only negative is that the cast iron base lacks little rubber nobs on the bottom. This leaves exposed sharp feet that would tear up our beautiful hardwood floors. I had to keep the base in the shipping materials... still trying to figure this one out. The adjustments at the mid and top of the pole allow for a lot of movement. There is also a foot pedal that allows dimming the light.

looks great, not that functional
Date:09/08/2012
this is a great looking lamp - it's much larger in person than in photos. the wood lampshade looks even better when the lamp is turned on, emitting a low orangey glow. unfortunately, it's a bit TOO low...it has a dimmer and when turned on to max (anything below max is equivalent to the light of a small candle) it still barely lights up the room. the bulb that comes with the lamp is the maximum wattage, so switching that out would be pointless.
eventually i had to get a second lamp to provide enough light in the room. i really wish this lamp was brighter because it everything else about it is perfect!

Love this lamp!

We are SO GLAD we purchased this lamp. The shade is so charming and looks just like wood in real life. This is a highly adjustable lamp, a great height, excellent quality - worth every penny!
