Sleek, beautiful, sturdy

I'm a single woman with SOME handy skills. Made a few mistakes in the installation process -- but I did it, by myself, and successfully. I was very proud! These shelves look amazing and they seem incredibly sturdy, which makes me happy, as a college professor with lots of books. Low footprint and sleek, which I wanted for my smallish 1950s ranch house. Highly recommend!

Even though I see them every time i enter the kitchen loaded with pottery and small appliances, they seem to take up no space. They are sturdy, handsome, and industrial looking but not bulky at all. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase!

I absolutely love these shelves. I put them in my kitchen on an empty wall (painted with chalkboard paint) to serve as a bar area. They are perfect!! Magniphíque!! :) A must buy!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this shelf. It's great looking in the catalog, but much nicer in person. It's extremely sturdy which is great because it is in my youngest son's room. We love it!

Much assembly required

These are beautiful shelves, and I'm happy that I own them. However, I had no idea how difficult they would be to mount. They require a full set of tools, a carpenter's level, and at least some knowledge of basic carpentry to do a good job -- none of which I had. I hired a handyman to do it -- and it took him about 2 hours to put up two sets of these shelves -- so about an hour a shelf set if you really know what you are doing. The quality is really good. They look fantastic in my study, but don't think this is the kind of furniture you put together with an Allen wrench (in fact, there is no Allen wrench at all). Part of the reason it takes so long is that each of the shelves is in two parts that need to be screwed together. The result is attractive and low-profile, with none of those heavy sides that make a room look smaller. The shelves are also nice and deep and can hold the largest books.
