wild life. In 2006, French artist Yann Legendre traveled through Arizona filling multiple sketchbooks with black and white drawings. From literal landscapes to metaphorical inspirations, the resulting collection "A raison a" ("reason") beautifully demonstrates Legendre's free, energetic and often humorous portrayals of his worldview. Once established in his new Chicago studio, Legendre revisited the Arizona series, adding saturated colors from his memories of the desert landscape. The result was a series of small handmade silkscreen prints. "Coyote" is the second of these images to live large as a silkscreened poster reproduced exclusively for CB2 by Legendre and Lance Rutter. Against a gradated red sky, a lone purple coyote silhouettes a rocky mountaintop juxtaposed with a zoomed view of the animal's piercing stare. Legendre & Rutter present a series of product creations that explore the reinvention of the printed artifact, transforming functional communication pieces into a form of visual poetry for your home. Each poster is signed and arrives in a recycled cardboard tube with artist's bio and inspiration. Collectors take note: This one-time-only limited edition will not be re-issued, so don't miss out.
