Great Starter Set!

This is a great set! Very solid, very versatile, very fun! We ordered two sets, plus extra of the dessert plates because we use that size a lot and they are great for serving appetizers when entertaining. I like that we can order single items as needed. The dinner plates are a bit heavy, which isn't a problem for us; and the size doesn't fit in our microwave (we can use it, it just doesn't spin!) but our microwave is small. Again, not a problem as we don't microwave a lot, but definitely measure if you do! The silverware is nice, except that the spoon is more of a tablespoon size than a teaspoon. We plan to use the placemats when patio dining. Overall, we are very pleased with this purchase!

The dishes in this set are amazing. Great quality and very heavy. The sizes are great, the dinner plate is huge and the bowls are very deep (great for morning cereal and pasta). However, when stacked up on the cabinets, you can tell they are uneven, each plate has a different accidental curvature in the rim.
The quality of the cutlery is very good but the design is pretty bland. Since the dishes themselves are modern but basic, I would expect the cutlery to have a better desing. But for everyday use they are excellent. The spoons are huge, more like tiny shovels.
The drinkware is a joke compared to the plates. It is impossibly thin, fragile and cheap looking. I couldn't care less for them. I already had great drinkware set so I am sending to Goodwill these ones . However, even taking the cheap glasses out, the price is still great for the dishes and the cutlery.

Great Dinnerware at a Great Price!

This set replaces our C&B stoneware set of five years. Food presentation looks best on white porcelain IMHO. The plates, saucers, and bowls are heavy duty and great for everyday eating in the home. While the Marta barware are great, their thin design makes me gravitate towards my existing tumblers 'cause I'm afraid to break them. I haven't used the cutlery but they appear to last; nor do we use the placemats because of their weave design that may allow food/drink to seep onto the table. Still, a great steal of a deal! We bought 2 sets!

This set suits our small family wonderfully. The dinnerware is stylish and practical, but not so trendy that I will have to buy new dinnerware if I decide to redecorate. The cutlery is plain, but is actually kind of elegant in person. The pictures on the site generally do not do the set justice; they look a lot more expensive than the pictures or the price would suggest.

Perfect starter dinner set

This is must have dinner set! I love the contemporary yet simple design, and it's perfect for everyday use. What I like the most is even when one piece is cracked, no worry because you can purchase additional pieces and/or different sizes, so you can always have a matching set. If you are looking for basic, simple and essential pieces, this is the best set but remember these won't be your heirlooms.

I just got everything out of the box, and I am so happy with this set! Everything came in one piece, and was wrapped very thoroughly. I had been considering the white square dishes for a while, and a lot of the reviews commented on how heavy they were. While they are bit heavy, its nothing that would be an issue. I wouldn't have even thought about it if it weren't for all the reviews going on about how heavy they were. The barware was great as well, paper thin and they feel great in your hand. This set was a great purchase and you just can't beat the price. I look forward to my next order from CB2.
