CB2 one of a findjain monk bowls set of nine
heart of the matter. A CB2 one of a find. This exquisitely refined set of nine alms bowls is hand-lathed of Rohida wood in Rajasthan for use by the Jain monks. The white-robed monks renounce all worldly possessions, owning only these bowls. In a journey of humility, the monks travel on foot with only their bowls seeking followers who fill them with food. The beauty of each concentric set is that from three sections of wood emerge a total of nine bowls, each scooped from the heart of the bowl before it. Today, only 30 families in the region practice this ancient woodcraft art. By commissioning these families with our direct financial support, we hope not only to improve their livelihood, but to ensure their artistry passes on to the next generation.Limited edition: Only 252 sets of bowls are available, each unique. -Nine alms bowls -Handcrafted from Rohida wood -Set is wrapped in muslin and packed in a metal box -"One of a find" story included -Wipe with damp cloth

Having travelled through Rajasthan, I am thrilled to find this kind of hand crafted item available in an unexpected place! The bowls are meaningful works of art and I feel honored to own them. The packaging and presentation is also very special.

I love these bowls. The craftmanship is beautiful. I have had so many visitors compliment me on these bowls. It is surely a great buy!!!

These bowls were a little smaller than I expected, but I love them. They are light and well-made and come with a cloth to wrap them in and a nice aluminum box. I like that they come from India and are associated with the Jain monks. All in all, a great "one of a find" at a not too expensive price.

These are a must have for anyone that can get them. These one of kind sets of jain monk bowls are extraordinary pieces of art, major conversation pieces and tell a story from where they've been. They're wonderful and you'll have them forever! You can't get them anywhere.

These bowls are beautiful and are depicted in the catalog accurately. I hesitated to purchase them due to cost, but given their history, I went ahead and bought them. I am glad that I did. They are beautiful sitting on a sofa table in my den. You will be very pleased if you purchase these bowls.
