Bedside table

I purchased a pair of these stools as bedside tables and they work beautifully. However, I placed a glass of water on the table (without a coaster, which was stupid) for barely five minutes and had a glaring water ring. I was surprised that the wood was damaged in that short period of time. I still love the table/stool, and I would highly recommend it. Just don't get water on it at all. I guess Larry David would say that I have no respect for wood. Oops.

great looking, versatile stools

I've been looking for the right stools to place under my fresca console. I considered the axel stool, but wanted something natural looking to contrast with the white lacquered finish of the console table. These stools were the perfect match. I purchased three to place under the console and it looks fantastic. These can also be used for extra seating and if/when I decide to re-arrange furniture these can be used as end tables, bedside tables....etc. Great stools!!

If you're looking for very small, sturdy, attractive object that can serve as additional seating or accent table -- and is well-priced -- and green (!) -- this is it. I have a sweet, little home with small rooms and eclectic furnishings. This helpful stool can be carried into any room and it looks great and functions beautifully. I like the patchwork look of the wood and the wax finish feels more luxurious than you'd expect at this price.

I purchased 2 of these at the CB2 store in Berkeley and later ordered 2 online when the store employees would not sell me the floor models. The ones purchased at the store are fine. The ones I received from the online purchase were made of poor materials. As these stools are made of reclaimed wood, one can expect variation. However, one of the online purchased stools had a large hole in the bottom of one of the legs - ruining any chance at structural integrity. The other had a thin, sharp piece of wood pasted to the top of the stool that had a chip out of it - in fact that stool seemed to be made more of wood putty than wood. If you buy in person, have the staff open the boxes so you can inspect the quality - highly variable.
