Delivery was on time, assembly was easy and all the parts were there. The bed fits my small bedroom very well but I wish it looked more like a high end product. But the price is so reasonable, I am not sure why I would expect that. My pillows are getting stuck in the open portion of the headboard so that has been a problem for me.

This bed was delivered around noon and within an hour it was set up and ready to go. It was extremely well packaged and arrived without so much as a smudge on it. The bed was so easy to assemble that I didn't even use the directions. If you've ever assembled a bed before, you can do this. The bed is just beautiful and the craftsmanship is superb! I've had beds that cost twice this much that weren't this well made. My only wish is CB2 sold matching bedside tables to go with the bed...(hint, hint...). Now I'll never have to buy box springs again!

Really loving the bed. Once you get through all the packaging it is very easy to assemble. The shipping took 3.5 weeks which was kinda long only b/c I was so excited to get it. The shelving is perfect for those who have a small bedroom and no room for a nightstand. Only negative I have already bruised my shin from the pointy corners at the foot of the bed, but overall really excited with this purchase.

it took 7 years of searching, but finally we found a bed frame we loved! it's so simple and classic. it came super fast and it was super easy for me to put together myself (with the tools included! bonus!). I'm so impressed by the quality, it's so solid and cb2's service! totally worth it!

Great Bed - Stylish & Modern

The bed is just perfect for out 3 yr old son. It is modern, stylish & clean lined. We had a minor problem w/ the head board having a crack in the wood & CB was on the ball & had us a new headboard w/in a few days. Impressed w/ the cust svc. My only negatives to the bed are the length of the bed. I"m guessing the "extra" bed is for the comforter to fit? Kind of odd, but no biggie. Another no biggie is the headboard is low - which is why we liked it & partly why we bought it. But the perception of it makes you think it's not there & hope our son doesn't smack his head on it when putting his head on the pillow. Again, no biggie - hopefully he'll only do it once - ha ha. Overall very nice, stylish bed. Would recommend and would do the purchase over again if we need another bed. Do wish it came in a full size, but the queen really isn't much bigger. It's the perfect addition to his room!

The color is "espresso" (VERY dark brown), not the warm walnut look shown. That was disappointing, but other than that, I like it.

I am very happy with this bed even though I waited for a month for delivery and there was no instruction for assembling. It was worth to wait, and I didn't even need instruction, it was super easy to assemble and bed looks fantastic in my apt.
I also appreciate about how on time delivery was, CB2 Rep called me next day to make sure it was delivered properly. Are they American company??? hard to believe. I usually wait over the time window for delivery and complain. This was such a wonderful experience for me.

I bought this earlier this month and it's a solid, sturdy and beautiful looking bed... great for the price.
Installation is extremely easy. I actually ended up moving the bed from one apartment to another. Each part of the bed disconnects without needing much unscrewing. The slats are connected via a cloth, making it easy to roll them into a pile for transport. Each piece is also fairly light.
The headboard has enough room for large paperbacks, glasses, lamps, cellphones... it's a great size: big enough to hold a bunch of stuff but not too long so that it would take up too much space in a small bedroom.
Definitely a great bed for it's price.

This bed frame is exactly what I was looking for: Modern, sustainable and at a good price. The wood looks great and it is very easy to assemble, and it doesn't require a box spring so I donated that to the Goodwill. Now I just need a dresser to go with it!

Beautiful 1st Bed

My boyfriend and I recently moved to SF with no furniture. This made for a long day of shopping once we found an apartment.
The double decker bed was one of the first that we saw. It was in the front of the CB2 and we both loved it. For me, it was the warmth of the wood and the built in shelf. For him, it fit in the our space and was very clean and simple. We didn't buy it upon 1st sight, but kept looking. At the end of the day, we were still talking about the double decker bed.
Our biggest concern was that it was such a unique color that we wouldn't be able to match other furniture to it. But, we decided that we'd go for it. It was the best decision ever! The bed looks amazing in our bedroom and the delivery process was easy. Finding furniture to "match" is not really a concern because the mango wood is a nice basic wood that will look good with both light and dark.
Even putting it together was simple. It took my boyfriend only about 30 minutes (without any help).
We love our new double decker bed...a perfect 1st piece of "real" furniture for both of us.

I bought this bed after looking at literally hundreds of platform beds, trying to find exactly the right one. I knew when I purchased it that the color wasn't going to be easy to match, but in reality, it's fine with all the other wood items in our room. It's a perfect blend of dark and light and goes well.
I saw this on line at first and didn't want to spend $600 on it without knowing how "sturdy" it was. I had to travel to SF on business and checked it out in the CB2 store there. It was solid and sturdy, so I went ahead and ordered it.
There was a lot of packaging, as one reviewer commented on, but that kept it from getting any damage in shipping. It's extremely sturdy; the wood is solid, and I was at first a bit worried because there were no assembly instructions. However, it's not rocket science I found out and within half hour had it put together (by myself) with no problems. I used a ratchet, which was quite faster than the wrench that came with it, so if you have one, it may be worth your while to use that tool instead.
The headboard does allow for a lot of storage, although it doesn't appear that roomy from the pictures on-line, it really is. It's low enough to come below my sloped ceiling but tall enough platform that there is enough room for my dog to get under the bed when a storm hits (and I have a 50# dog). :)

When I saw this bed in the catalogue I loved the style and was happy to find it was very reasonably priced. We've bought the bed to replace a sleigh bed that was taking up too much space in the room. The new bed really opened the room up and looks great in the space. I love the fact that you can easily place books, an alarm clock, drinks and other items on the headboard. Despite the space in between we have never had problems with pillows getting wedged in there or knocking anything over. Great bed!

I was so excited when I found a woden, stylish, minimalist queen-sized bed with a built-in shelf headboard that would fit in our modestly sized master bedroom. The bed was very easy to assemble and the wood is very solid and of a beautiful color. The reasonable price was just another bonus. I would recommend it highly, even for people with a more generous budget.

This bed is easy to assemble and looks great. It says you need two people to put it together, but I did it by myself. It is really solid and I know I'll have it for a long time. Seriously,

Oh and be prepared to dispose of all of the packaging that the bed comes in. I had cardboard and packing material all over the house by the time I was done. All of it had to be rounded up and stuffed into my to take to the recycling center.

The wood frame is warm and earthy, while the design is modern, clean and simple. The 'double decker' part of the headboard gives me a place to put a few books, a reading lamp, alarm clock and a cup of tea. Perfect for small spaces where you may not have room for a night stand. There's also room underneath for shoe or winter storage...
I would highly recommend this bed, as I love the way it looks and performs!

This is a great bed made of solid, quality wood. I was really impressed at how sturdy it is for $600. The design either you love or you don't, and I like simple, functional furniture, so for me it rocks. If you prefer something more ornate, obviously you can tell from the picture that this isn't it.
The double decker headboard is great extra shelving for my small room, and surprisingly it doesn't take up such a big footprint, even as a Queen bed: the legs fit right under the mattress. I never bump my knees on the corners, like I did on my other bed.
Some other comments on here (that it was an "in between" colored wood, neither light nor dark, and therefore hard to match with other pieces) scared me, but it actually goes great with my espresso nightstand and chest. There's enough mixture in the wood that it blends well. Plus, hello, not everything should be dark brown. It's boring.
Also, assembly was an absolute breeze. The headboard comes all in one piece, so it took me a half hour to assemble all by myself (even though they recommend two people), about as long as it took me to dump out and locate all the pieces to my DIY nightstand. Literally.

Minimalist Approach

I ordered this bed a few weeks ago and I have been using it for the past week. When the bed arrived it did not come with any hardware, which was a little frustrating. I then called customer service and they shipped the missing parts, which I received two days later. Overall I am very pleased with my decision to purchase this bed. It complements the minimalist style and it is exactly what I was looking for. I love the unique color and the hidden storage allows space for my alarm clock. PS the only reason I gave the bed 4 stars is because the hardware didn't come with the product when I received it and I had to wait a few extra days.

I love the style and functionality of this bed, especially the headboard's ability to function as a nightstand. I almost didn't buy it because I had reservations about the gap in the headboard. I feared that I'd scoot my pillow into the gap and either knock over some items or bang my head. Thankfully, that hasn't been an issue at all. The bed is amazing, the mango wood looks awesome, and the headboard really does hold everything you need it too. With that said, finding a matching dresser for this bed has been a chore. While the texture and color of the wood looks awesome it's not exactly a standard color- probably a little unfair but I knocked off one star for that reason.
