Cute lamp

I ordered one for our tiny entry way in our modern/industrial desgined law firm. The entry was really dark. Truns out the light is not bright enough to light an entire 6'x6' area. It creates more of a warm-glowing, mood light, and I would definitely call it an accent light. But it is really cute. Very silver/chrome. And seeing the bulb through the shade when it was on makes it a little industrial, which I was going for. I moved it to a side table to act mostly as a silver accent lamp/piece. If you want a little warm lighting glow, this is the lamp for you.

Lovely Lamp

This lamp is fantastic! It's totally hip, fun, stylish and beautiful. The best thing is the lining of the lamp shade. It's finished in a really beautiful and flattering, gold tint. Even with a CFL (which looks very sculptural through the peek-a-boo shade), the light emitted is warm and wonderful. If it were three times the price, it would still be a terrific buy!!

Needed a small, but modern and distinctive lamp for very narrow night stand. This compact lamp totally fit the bill, and as suggested by CB2 looks great with the icecream cone style bulb. Wish that the switch was on the lamp instead of the cord, but that is a very minor complaint. Overall, this is a really great lamp at a great price!

i actually havent bought this yet, but plan to. does anyone know if you can spray pain the shade to be a different color? I love the look and simplicity and price but want a black shade not stainless. would it be possible?

I like modern and I liked the pictures of this lamp a lot and thought what a great deal for the price. But, when it's turned on, the main thing you notice is the lightbulb shining through and when it's turned off all you see is lots of shiny aluminum. But, it's ok for the price.

Love this lamp. A GREAT look for the money. You CAN see the bulb through the shade when it's on, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. And based on light output, I think this makes a better mood or ambient light than a reading lamp.
Please note that the inside of the shade is a gold color, which warms up the color of the light... an advantage if you go fluorescent.
However, if you're going incandescent, this lamp does NOT take a Type B bulb as listed. It takes a regular Type A.

Unless you're Superman, you probably wont see even a peek of the light bulb through the shade with the lamp off. But no worries, thats a good thing. There is something mysterious about the double life of this lamp. One thing not mentioned is the inner liner of the lampshade. Copper-like in color, the lamp illuminates an orange-ish hue where the light is strongest. In the dark it gives the lamp a sexy, quiet confidence. Perfect for a bachelor's nightstand. I would have paid 3x the price anywhere else. Definitely a great buy.

Great For My New Bedroom

I received two lamps a week or two ago and they look great on my nightstands that flank either side of my bed and they really complete the look I was going for. I've received so many compliments on it. After reading reviews about them possibly not giving off enough light, I have to disagree. I'm using energy saving 9w bulbs that give off the 40w look and it gives just the right amount of light in my bedroom which is not small by any means.

This lamp is a great addition to a living room or bedroom. It is almost the perfect size for a nightstand or end table and gives the space a little height. When turned on, you can faintly see the light shine through which catches your attention every time. I love this lamp and I have used it in many design projects.

I bought this for our guest room, and it makes me happy every time I look at it. Its simplicity works well with some of my random vintage pieces that I'm still trying to place. It is a cozy little corner light, but I wouldn't recommend it for a larger space.

I love these lamps! They are very skiek looking. I have them on floating night stand tables on each side of the bed. You can see the blub through the shade, which is pretty cool. I just love how they look!

Although a teeny bit overpriced for what it is (essentially, a plastic lamp), it's very, very cute. I love the peek-a-boo thing going on with the bulb - the curly-q CFL bulbs look really cute. Like another reviewer pointed out, the interior shade stabilizer should be painted silver instead of white, as it's very visible as white when the light is on. But, I knew that going in, so I wasn't surprised. Overall, nice purchase.

I love this lamp. It is very sleek and clean in my living room. It goes with my nickel/brushed liver accents from other sources well. Give off the softest gold glow. Shipment was packaged well and arrived in a timely manner. Shipping cost was reasonable.
