pattern 123 flatware

swoop. Curvaceous, lustrous stainless forms forged to fit your hand. Exaggerated European heads, deep edges and refined articulation only look expensive. Love the abstract knife. Four 5-piece place settings. -Forged stainless steel -Luster finish -Dishwasher-safe -After rinse cycle, hand drying is recommended to prevent discoloration and film build-up

Visceral and yet...vexing
Date: 03/09/2010
I adore my flatware. I bought two sets and they fit the requirements for a very visceral piece. I wanted something heavy, that felt like good silver. Something with mass (I hate hate hate hate stamped aluminum flatware) and wasn't pressed into shape but rather forged. I adore these. I love the shape, but as people have stated they are prone to falling. These fit perfectly with my slightly curved (alpico and a set of stoneware) plates and I haven't had any issues with those, but I can see the challenge in traditional dinnerware.
I'd recommend them. Several of my friends have bought them (so much for originality) after using mine. Durable (no issues with rusting or spotting or film).

Flatware is irritating.
Date: 11/15/2009
Who would have thought that flatware could be annoying! Well, this stuff is just that. Why? Because it is poorly balanced. The handles are heavily weighted at the ends, so you can't put the stuff down on your plate the normal way without it falling off. We are constantly dropping them! And, everytime an unwary guest picks one up, it ends up on the floor (the spoon or fork - not the guest). We'd send them back, but it's too late. They look nice, but will add a whole new irritating dimension to your next dinner party.

Great
Date: 09/03/2009
I purchased a set online due to the wonderful reviews. After recieving the flatware I was amazed. I absolutely love heavy flatware and this fit the bill. My only complaint is the balance and how it sits on a plate. While in San Francisco I stopped by the CB2 store and picked up another set.

nice but spotty
Date: 09/03/2009
i have had so many compliments when i've had people over to eat dinner. great looking, the only problem is they seem to get a bit of rust/tarnish on them fairly easily. takes extra scrubbing to get these clean sometimes.

Too Unstable
Date: 06/10/2009
I agree with the other reviews — This is beautiful looking silverware but is strangely weighted and falls off my plates regularly. Even if I could get used to it after a few weeks, I don't want my guests to have to "learn" how to use my spoons!

stylish but unstable
Date: 05/26/2009
These are very stylish and have a great shape, and are great quality. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because as mentioned they are weighted toward the handle and will fall off plates and out of bowl constantly. It took us a few weeks to get used to. Be prepared to give your dinner guests a warning, even so, they will surely be dropping at your next dinner party.

Adds a modern touch!
Date: 04/21/2009
My husband and I purchased this set after seeing it in a hip dowtown restaurant we love to frequent. Now we have the perfect modern touch added to our dinner table at home!

Okay Purchase
Date: 03/19/2009
I was looking for some cool flatware and bought this set. They are very nice pieces. Just a little heavy at the end of the piece. They tend to flip off plates. You have to hold it down. The butter knife is a weird shape to hold. I still like them despite the heaviness and the flipping off plates.

Almost.
Date: 02/28/2009
Ummnn, Looks very nice ideally, but not in the realistically and ergonomically. Both the shape of it self and the weight balance of it are unstable very much. As others said, they tend to fall off plates easily. They like to fall. I don't hate them but need to be developed a little more.

Pretty but a little unwieldy
Date: 02/24/2009
Very pretty and elegant in real life. Even after a trip through the dishwasher (and I have a sketchy dishwasher). Seemingly durable, too. Only downside is, as others have said, the pieces tend to fall. Off plates, out of bowls, wherever they are, they like to fall.
That said, I'll take the falling over all of the plain flatware out there. The design really is quite attractive.

Not practical silverware
Date: 01/14/2009
I couldnt help but write a review after reading the rosy reviews for this silverware. I purchased two sets and have since returned them -heres why;
While the silverware has a nice feel in the hand it is weighted too heavily towards the handle end. What this means is that the silverware has the annoying propensity to fall out of bowls and off dishes. More than once the silverware either careened off the plate and onto the lap of a guest or worse -onto my beautiful floor!

Very sleek
Date: 12/10/2008
This flatware is beautifully designed. It's sleek and simple, but not generic looking. I was surprised by the weight; it's heavier than I thought it looked, so it has a nice solid feel. It's easy to care for, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it from guests!

Flatware of the year!
Date: 11/12/2008
This flatware is absolutely stunning; I've had so many compliments. The unique knife is wonderful (and very easy to use for those who might question). Honestly I have no complaints. Oh, and the set came in the nicest storage bag (made moving easy). I recommend it to anyone looking for contemporary sleek utensils.
