Great Bed
10/19/09
Really ties the room together, as the dude would say. Not really that complicated to set up, but yes, more packaging than you can shake a stick at. Mattress fits ok- little long towards the end. Not too much space to throw stuff underneath. The shelf on the headboard is awesome. I really love this bed, it's a great frame that's classy without shouting, "look at me! I'm all new age and well designed!" Just kinda hangs out and says "hey. come sleep... or don't- I'll look good either way." Which is what a bed should say. Way to go, CB2.

Sophisticated and Spectacular
10/5/09
One of my best purchases by far, clean lines and versatile for any style in your household. This bed is very easy to assemble and easy to maintain, and worry free of any scratches and damages that other wood base beds normally go through. It has been a wow factor amongst my friends and family.

Love This Bed
9/19/09
I love the lines of this bed. The shelf along the top is a great alternative to bed side tables. It was easy to put together. The sales person told me that it would take two people, but I had it assembled by myself in no time flat. However, my friends do say I am a bit of a ninja when it comes to assembling furniture.

design really within reach
9/15/09
my husband & I, both architects, recently purchased this bed after much research of other options we love it, it looks great, was easy for 2 of us to put together, great price, and most importantly very comfortable my only advice would be to measure your room first, the bed is larger than you might think because of the low exposed frame thank you CB2 for great design at affordable prices!

nice nice nice bed
9/5/09
i love the fact that the wooden slates are a better quality then most of of these types of bed frames ive seen. the bed itself is lower than i thought it would be, but thats exactly the look i was going for.
MUST NOTE, unless you get a thick mattress, there will be some sort of gap between the headboard and the matress.
also note that the headboard will echo and it "tinny" when struck. having some experience in the car stereo world, i will insulate the head board with some like some dynomat.

Style, style, style
9/4/09
This bed looks absolutely fantastic in my room. The added bonus of being able to put magnetic picture frames or anything else magnetic on to the headboard is a lot of fun.
I did NOT buy a special mattress with this (like people are suggesting you need to do) and there's no problems. Yes, on occassion a pillow can fall down behind - but that's SO rare. Nothing to worry about there.

This bed has that industrial feel and is very functional. Fit and Fitness is fantastic. I wish CB2 would design matching night stands.

Very cool - great value!
9/3/09
This bed not only looks cool, it's well constructed. I searched far and wide and found several beds with a similar "de-constructed" yet simple look - all were more expensive and of lesser quality.
This bed is basic, won't go out of style and will last - all in all, a great value for the $$.

Glad we made this purchase!
8/14/09
This is a great piece of furniture, very well constructed and easy to assemble. The finish is very even and consistent on the bed we received, and there were no problems with the holes lining up, as noted in some earlier reviews. It's a very stylish, sturdy bed! My only complaint would be the excessive amount of packaging, I feel like I offset a year's worth of green living with the amount of styrofoam used in the boxes. I understand the need to protect the furniture, but a more eco-friendly option would be greatly appreciated.

I really like this bed...
8/11/09
This bed is just as described. Sleek, low, lots of room for reading materials, lamps, alarms on the shelf. Perfect slant for sitting up. This is the first real bed I've ever had. Excellent purchase. A couple of guests have tripped on the frame while walking around it. Too bad my guests aren't as well-crafted as this bed.

Great purchase
7/17/09
I bought this bed for my 1954 contemporary ranch house - the low height of the bed coordinates with the architecture nicely. It took 2 adults to put together, but was easy. It's heavy duty. The slope to the headboard makes it comforable to read in bed. The slats do show a bit (a standard queen mattress isn't that wide), but I bought a king duvet cover which hides this slight flaw (plus the king size falls onto the floor a little - I love that look and I don't have to worry about not having enough covers).

Great Bed
7/16/09
Better then expected. I assembled this bed alone and it didn't take too long, althought another set of hands and it would have been extremely easy. The only downside--the packaging is something to behold and discard.

Inspect the product before Assembly
6/30/09
Make sure that you inspect your product before spending 3 hours to put this bed together. The spray paint that CB2 used is of a very low quality, and the headboard has many shadows of various colors. It looks like someone tossed baby powder on the headboard. ;@( I spent to much time putting this together, I can't return it.

Took 3 yrs but I picked this bed
6/15/09
Yes, it took me 3 years to finally pick a bed for my room. I knew I wanted a metal frame/headboard but never pulled the trigger on all the models I had seen. When I did find one but waited for it to go on sale, it sold out too quickly.
So this bed came along and with its perfect price(for me) even not being on sale I jumped on it. I love it. The shelf above the head alleviated the need for such a big bedside table(I ordered the sleepy hollow nightstand also) and I was able to put everything I needed on it.
Everything came packaged extremely well, almost too well. There were a lot of boxes and Styrofoam. Definitely expect the garbage men to get a little mad at you when they see your curb that day.
I built it by myself but I recommend you probably have help. I didn't have any issues other than having someone else would have saved a bit of time, that's all. Ive read that some people were finding the holes on the headboard to be misaligned but I didn't have an issue at all. Everything went together very easily and the instructions are very simple to follow. Once assembled though its very solid and low. One definitely has to get used to literally falling into bed if you had a higher mattress frame before.
As one other stated, if you have a low bed, your pillows might fall below the headboard. I have a 14" mattress(without boxspring) and it just barely covers the opening. This isn't an issue for me, just want to give others a heads up. I want to mention that I have a memory foam "type" bed and they usually specify the need for a box spring but I find the slats on this bed to work just fine at keeping the bed supported. That being said, again mine is a 14" mattress so smaller ones might flex a bit more.
Overall I'm very happy I found this bed and all my searching is put behind me.

Great bed
6/10/09
Great bed! A little difficult to assemble since we screwed on the screws to tight. Leave them loose until the very end. But overall great! I bought a very thick mattress and discovered that it was all I needed. I didn't need a box spring. The color goes great against white walls. Overall no complaints! Love it :)

conflicted... awesome product, almost
6/4/09
Full disclosure: my new loft condo in chicago is a page out of the CB2 catalog: couch, table, kitchen table, plates... i love this store.
I love my bed. I sleep very well at night. I wish I could give this a 5 star review. But, alas, I can't. I have been scoping out this bed for months. It fits the theme of my new loft perfectly. I waited and waited for it to go on sale... then, when I knew it wouldn't and I couldn't find anything close to it anywhere else, I bought it.
I was super excited when it arrived. Seemed easy enough to put together. then it happened. I was putting the headboard on... one side fit, the other side wouldn't lay flat, so i spent an hour trying EVERY possible solution. Screws in tight, screws in loose, half one side, half the other... nothing. then i measured and realized the screw holes were an INCH off. an entire inch on each side. So my only solution: my left side has 2 screws, my right side the bottom hole on the headboard is screwed into the top hole on the platform. only way it would fit.
I am stubborn and didn't want to wait weeks for a new bed and take apart what i did and repay the $80 for delivery... but the bed is not cheap. and i am surprised by the error.
other negative... why so much packaging. holy cow, i think the final tally was 3 garbage bags, 4 boxes (some within boxes) and 4 Styrofoam pieces that broke into 100,000,0000,0000000 pieces. I will be vacuuming it for months.
disappointed, but i will be back.

great bed for my son
5/8/09
We had a little difficulty putting the bed together as some of the screw holes didn't line up very easy but otherwise had no problems. Bed fits well in my son's room . Especially like the shelve behind the bed which eliminates the need for an end table.
