I needed a sofa in a second floor office in my home with a very narrow 1920's staircase with a complete right turn at the top. I travelled to Soho to check it out before buying--it looks really uncomfortable and while I loved the green color, I wasn't sure about this charcoal color.
In person, I saw the easy way it opens and closes and while it's firm, it's definitely a nice place to spend a few nights. The fabric quality is rugged and modern--absolutely perfect for those with dogs that sleep on their furniture. I have two 70 lbs. dogs who probably spend more time on my furniture than I do and I've never actually seen better fabric suited to them than this.
The color is less olive than it shows--it's not gray either. It ended up being a dark taupe that is very versatile.
The delivery was a bit of a nightmare but it ended up working out after a bit of struggle. The delivery guys were nice and didn't give up when I would have. They didn't realize it folded and I didn't know how to quite do it. (Turns out, it's easy.) It came assembled even though I was told it wouldn't. Due to some miscommunication, the delivery guys didn't think it could come more unassembled. It's supposed to come with the mattress separate from the metal base...and if yours doesn't, let them know it's possible to detach it with NO harm to it and the mattress can then fold in half.
This is a great alternative to a space where you think you can only get a futon with so much more style and durability...for grown-ups! It's a Junior queen--not quite as wide but as long so having those sheets on hand is key. I haven't had my first guests yet but I'm sure they'll love it.
