Great & affordable lamp!

I looked for a long time for find an affordable, modern arc lamp to go over a round dining room table in our front room. It is perfect! It's simple clean lines are graceful, and I love that the arc is adjustable, because now it fits perfectly over the table and isn't too low or too high. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

for the money you can't get better quality. it's not top of the line, but you're not spending $650 either. i thought i would put this over my dining table because i can't hang a light from the ceiling. i don't think it will work for this. once the lamp is fully extended (so that the shade sits over the middle of the table) it hangs too low. now i have it over the sofa and it's perfect.
two people can put this together in 10 minutes. be sure to feed the cable through the arc if you want to extend it.

My studio looks just like the page in the magazine and the lamp is awesome the only thing is you might need a desk lamp cause with the cover on the lamp doesn't give off a real brightness you may need

This lamp has all the best features. The dimmer, the diffuser, and its tall enough and arched enough that you can put it behind a couch/sectional and sit under it. Besides, its a great design element in my transitional living room. I'd buy two, but this one lights the whole room (and its a big room.)

This lamp is great! It was relatively easy to assemble, although it would have been easier if there had been two people. The base is heavy and kind of awkward to move around on my own, but it keeps the lamp perfectly balanced. It looks great and I'm extremely happy to have it in my dining room!

I am very pleased with the big dipper arc lamp. The assembly was a little more difficult than your typical floor lamp but definitely worth it....this lamp not only provides illumination but a decorative accent to any room. The brushed nickel finish is beautiful and the linen shade has a nice look when illuminated. The only problem I had was that the shade had a minor dent when I received it. I called CB2 customer service and they sent me a new one with no hassle.

I have a city loft, brick walls, decorated in mid-century modern style. This lamp fits perfectly. The adjustable arm makes it work in many different spots. Good quality and design. We love it.

Of all the peices I purchased for my new livingroom, this one stands out as the most beautiful. Friends comment right when they walk in and want to know where I purchased it. The quality is solid and seems like a lamp you would purchase at a high end furniture store. I also love that you can sit under it and look up and not see a lightbulb, rather diffused light under linen. You won't be disappointed.

After searching all over for this type of lamp, I decided that the Big Dipper is the best value. I was not disappointed. The lamp is well made, sturdy, and casts a wonderful (soft) light.
My only complaint is that when the lamp is not off or on full (i.e. when you're using the dimmer), it makes a high-pitched noise. I've never had a lamp with a dimmer switch before, and didn't realise that this is just the noise that dimmers make. Unaware of this, I wrote to CB2 about it. They sent out a new one immediately!! Fantastic customer service.
It wasn't until I installed the second lamp that I realised that the noise is normal. I must be highly sensitive. So just a word of warning to anyone with very sensitive hearing: dimmers are noisy.
Otherwise, I'm very happy with the lamp.

This is a great lamp. I needed better light for reading in my den, and this was the perfect solution. I also like how the shade diffuses the light as well. The lamp is well constructed and looks great with my transitional decor.

After searching the web for the best arch lamp, I finally decided on getting this one. It has been on my basket for the longest time. My husband was skeptical at first but he ended up loving it. I told him it's the best purchase that's friendly to our pocket. I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm with this lamp and I don't care. I'm just happy that this lamp is in out livingroom as I type and I am very well satisfied by my purchase.

I needed a light over my dining room table. Our air vent is directly over the table, so that eliminated ceiling mounted options, and I don't care for swag lights. I saw this lamp, shown being used over a round table and loved the look. My table is rectangular, and it looks just as good. It easily reaches to the table center and still leaves plenty of room on the side of the table so guests don't bump their arms on the lamp. It's tall enough that it's the correct height off the table top. I've had many compliments on it!
