Great Bookcase

I love this bookcase. It's beautiful, strong and holds a ton. Wish I had room for another one. Although instructions advised that 2 adults were needed to put this together, this 63 year old grandma had no trouble putting it together by myself.

I am in love with this bookcase--I might have to get a second one. I put it together in less than an hour. It was well-packaged, and the assembly was very simple.
It's nice and tall, but because of the open and tapered design, it doesn't feel bulky. It's a slightly orange red--fun, but not too bright or too orange.
It's sturdy and not at all cheap-looking, considering the price. It may not be ideal for storing books, unless you stack them on their sides, as there's a lot of space between the shelves and, of course, no sides. But it will fit a LOT of stuff--I was afraid the top two shelves would be too small to fit anything of substance, but that's not the case.

I just got this bookcase, after having bought the lobster red and glass dining table last spring (that has an x frame). They look great together as I have a combination living/dining great room area. I also have the boxcar credenza which gives a little substance to the room and balances the modern metal stuff.
It was also super easy to put together.

i love this bookcase...all the reviews helped me feel confident in my initial purchase...it is sturdy...it is the perfect color...still orange, but deep and rich....we used them as nightstands in a bedroom that is all white with just a few orange accents and they make the room!

love the powder coated finish, and so far seems very durable. i use this in my home office and it fits in since the lines are clean and it's slim. wish it came in other colors!

This bookcase has transformed my apartment. It is very modern and brings a lot of spunk to any room. It is rather narrow, so I recommend buying two, depending on the space you are trying to fill. Highly recommend this product.

I bought this bookcase and I am using it for my electronics, color is beautiful, and very modern, the packing was so well put together, I was impressed! Everything fits on it and it's very sturdy. Easy to put together also, did it all by myself!

I saw this piece as I was browsing through a CB2 catalogue, looking for furniture for my first apartment. Even though it's a bookcase, I'm using this piece as a baker's rack. I live in a small apartment with very little kitchen counter space for appliances. I've put it in the dining area of my kitchen/dining room, and I have something on every shelf. I have my cookbooks, toaster oven, microwave, and blender on the shelves of this piece. The biggest feature for me was the amount of weight the shelves will hold - I'm certainly using it to its fullest capacity! And the color is awesome!

Modern bookshelf being used in a playroom. More of an orange color than I expected but works out well with my decor. So far it hasn't fallen on my kids' heads thanks to the safety strap that attaches it to the wall!

I purchased two Hancock bookcase units. They were easy to assemble and look even better in person than in the catalog. The packaging is terrific--no chance of the parts being damaged in transit. These shelving units fit right in with my expensive, mid-century modern designer pieces. Well done, CB2!

This shelf tower has the pleasing shape of an ancient Babylonian Ziggurat, which ascends upward starting large and getting progressively smaller. It provides stable storage for large and heavy items on the bottom: on top there is still good vertical room for smaller jars or plants: and on the very top something decorative can pull the whole look together. I am using it in a small kitchen for large cookware, knives and forks, plants that need sun -- it keeps all kinds of things easy to lay hands on when I need them, and the bright lobster red is cheerful.

I bought two of these shelves and assembled them myself! They are really roomy without the bulk and the COLOR is amazingly similar to the Golden Gate bridge. If I could, I would buy more, but ALL of my books fit into the two I bought. Kudos, CB2!

I bought this bookcase a few months ago for my apartment and I have gotten so many compliments on it. I luv it and I've discovered it really goes with any piece of furniture your house. My apartment is very eclectic and it really compliments it and I'm realy happy with it. thank you!!

Excellent Stand Out Piece

We purchased this as a piece to splash up the room, but not in an obnoxious way. The effect is a beautiful, sturdy shelf that draws attention but also complements the rest of the room. It definitely takes 2 people to assemble, but now that it is up we almost always receive compliments from our guests.

These Make Me Happy

I ordered 5 of these bookcases for my living room, and they're amazing! Not only for the color, but they're incredibly sturdy. I feel like they would hold up well to earthquakes, to which California is prone. I love how the shelves become gradually deeper/wider as you go down, providing extra space for bigger items, like colorful storage boxes. Putting them together is a bit labor intensive, but very straightforward. The color is definitely lobster red - an awesome red-orange, good for putting a smile on your face when you look at them.

I was weary of ordering this bookshelf because it looked like it might not be sturdy but it's definitely a solid, sturdy piece (and it wasn't difficult to put together). The color is great too – really pops in a room. I'm extremely pleased with this bookshelf.
