bauhaus arc floor lamp
wow house. Arc de triomphe in top to bottom all metal, all white. Pedestal iron base rises off-center, then swoops to high light over seating, bed, dining. I bought this worrying the assembly would be a problem after reading some of the reviews but that was far from the case. it could not have been easier!! the tool they include is more than enough and my lamp is sitting pretty and sturdy in the living room. No doubt about it, get this one.
I would recommend being there when the box arrives cause first off, it's huge and the UPS guy wasn't sure what he was gonna do after he lugged it off the truck if I wasn't home. PLUS he had to help me bring it in the apartment.

Great ambient light and very cool silhouette... would be best hanging over a piece of furniture as it too low to walk under

Due to its size, one would execpt this could swallow up a living room but its color and thin tubing makes a terrific way to accent a particular part of a room while still having enough of a presence to invite without distract. The base is heavy but not so heavy I couldn't test it out in a number of locations. Installation is easy. I love the glow for reading the lamp creates and it effortless washes a small pool of light that also allows someone else in the room to not have their experience with TV or computer be distracted by the lamp being on.

I love the design of the lamp, but not the metal lamp shade. It's not a good reading light as it's too bright to sit directly underneath it. Assembly was difficult and you need 2 people. It's a nice "accent light" though. :)

I love this lamp. I just bought and assembled it easily by myself. I was a little intimidated at first when it arrived in two large packages, but it was not as complicated as it looked and the instructions were pretty easy to follow. There were no packaging defects either. It does not tilt awkwardly and the lamp shade is parallel to the floor and the overall effect is like the picture. Make sure you really tighten the bolt at the base with the wrench that is provided and adjust the shade and tighten well to make it parallel. It looks beautiful in my living room against a dark blue wall next to the sofa.

So I was very hesitant in purchasing this lamp after reading some of the negative reviews..and the 2 HUGE boxes sat in my studio for a good week before I enlisted a friends help in assembly..and taadaa! We were both very surprised at how easy it was to put together! Yes, the base is heavy, but it is moveable. That said I was left with an amazing lamp that finally sheds some light(flattering light I must add) on my little studio apartment! Thankfully I have VERY high ceilings because this lamp is very tall! The quality is great!!

This is a solid lamp when properly assembled. Assembly requires at least two people to aviod damaging the lamp/house. We have it in a corner reaching out over our sectional and we're very happy with the look. The cord is clear plastic and has a floor switch that you turn on with the tap of the foot. muy bueno

I liked this floor lamp online. Good design, ideal to light dining table from corner that had no light.
Packaging was a disaster. So poorly packed it was a mess to take apart and left me with an hour of clean up.
The light does NOT fully stand erect despite many adjustments. The shade adjustment does not allow it to be parallel to the floor.
It's a poor knock off of a great higher priced design and after purchase, I am sorry I didn't go for the already assembled far better designed and constructed original even for the bigger bucks.
I would NOT recommend this lamp if you are picky about how it looks vs. what the online depiction showed.

This lamp is beautiful in the catalogue, but falls short of expectation in my home. As some of the other reviewers experienced, the vertical element leans SIGNIFICANTLY when fully assembled. That in itself detracts from the beauty of the lamp. One of the joints in the shade detached during assembly despite being handled with greater care than should be necessary. Oh, and it arrived without any directions or images to help during assembly, so I wasn't sure initially if it was leaning because of something I had done, or if it was doing so because of a design flaw.

Great lamp, lot of impact

This lamp is great. It looks amazing. Was easy to assemble. The shade can swing over an easy chair or around to over the sofa in my living room and increases the light focus for reading. It lights the whole room well also. Am very happy that I bought this item.

The lamp is very modern and sturdy. The weight of the base supports the arc nicely so that it doesn't tip. It really adds a lot to the room.

i would have given it 5 stars but mine came defective. the stand was leaning and the part where the shade hangs and holds the light bulb was very noticeably slanted. but it IS a gorgeous lamp.

Beautiful lamp but won't stand perfectly straight

This lamp has a great finish and the shade is metal as well, giving a nice cast to the light. The biggest issue is that although the base is heavy, the lamp is still somewhat prone to tipping. Also, the arc of the lamp is nice but the vertical piece does not stand straight due to the weight placed on it. I have tried tightening and replacing the washers and locknut, and also tried placing a metal sleeve in the base to prevent "wiggle room" but with no result. Still, considering the 1962 Arco Floor Lamp is $2700 this lamp is a good deal.

Good looking and heavey piece

The lamp is good for a big living room. Very good looking, but need to be careful don't bump your head into the lamp. The base is very heavy. I received the base piece with a little bump/damage from the shipping. Called the customer service and they send me a new one. Just put the damaged one in the box and UPS come to pick it up. Very smmoth transaction.

I agree with all of the positives everyone has mentioned, and I haven't had any negatives! The base is VERY heavy (which is necessary to support the arch, and therefore, a good thing), and that is the only reason it's a little tricky to put together. I managed to do it myself and I'm 5 ft. 105 lbs. so it IS possible. I also kept that in mind, and when I assembled it, did so on a folded blanket so I could easily move it around before settling in one spot.
I also like that it can be moved around, and it just has a great clean overall look. Love it!

This was a very good purchase. I put it in my bedroom over my bed and it is a very nice piece and lights a room well. It would also be great in a family room or living room. Very easy to put together.

I love the way this lamp looks but when you assemble it it does not stay perfectly straight. No matter how hard I tried to tighten the bolt in the base, it is still a bit loose, allowing the lamp to tilt. As a result, the lamp shade sits lower than it should. I still like it but I wish it would stay taller, that way it;s supposed to.

I love this lamp! I was coveting it ever since it came out! It is bigger than it seemed in the catalog.. I live in a apartment so it was a bit of a challenge to find the perfect space for it.. (anyone else who owns this can tell you that it is no small feat to move this thing around!) It is the focal point of my living room and everyone complements it!
